Gardening Project

Spend a few hours a week away from the city's hustle and bustle, connecting to yourself and the natural world.

Gardening

The Gardening Project is a weekly therapeutic gardening group for adults offered by Hackney City Farm and Gaia Therapy Project.

A warm and welcoming environment, this group is for people who are experiencing challenges in their lives, particularly for individuals who have been feeling vulnerable and isolated during the Covid pandemic.

Based outdoors, in Hackney City Farm’s peaceful community garden, there will be opportunity to get involved in gardening, woodwork, conservation and beekeeping. The activities are intended to cultivate our connection to the natural world and appreciation of the community we live in. There will be space to share experiences together, if people wish to, though this will never be an expectation or obligation.

Organised by Ken (Hackney City Farm) and Chand (Gaia Therapy Project), but always in collaboration with the groups’ members, we will facilitate working together whilst also making it possible for people to be solitary in the activity. Social distancing will be observed at all times.

The  group runs for a few hours on Mondays over 12 week blocks. Please note the current group is full and the next group will run in Autumn 2021. To find out more, or express interest in the group, please email Ken at Ken@HackneyCityFarm.co.uk

You will be warmly welcomed.
